Gretchen Williams

Let’s hear it for our June Client Highlight, Gretchen Williams! She works so incredibly hard in the gym, and there is no doubt that her OVERALL health (spirit/mind/body) is what she keeps her eyes on! Physical gains have been made: In one year, Gretchen has dropped 5 lbs of fat, and gotten her Body Fat % down to 16%! Lean and strong, fierce and fit!! Along with her physical goals…she’s also gained much more than the eye can see. Her inner strength goes beyond what any workout can measure…her confidence has grown, her friendships have deepened, and we are SO proud to have her on our team! AND SHE JUST GOT MARRIED, and we couldn’t be more excited for her! Check out her incredible story below!

Hi! My name is Gretchen. I learned about TTT a little more than a year ago when I saw Melanie (a fellow TTT rock star) post about it on her Instagram. I was extremely intrigued, and before I knew it I was attending my first workout. It was a 9:30am full body strength group. I thought I was in decent shape since I have always made time to work out whether it was with weights, doing hiit, yoga, barre or pilates…pretty much anything except for running haha. Well, I was wrong. That workout killed me, and I was absolutely hooked. I left with a full heart, and I knew this was the place for me. I had been looking for a new gym, and knew God had directed me to Angie, Chrissy, Tara and Jana. I wanted something that was high caliber, close to my house and challenging. TTT provides all of those elements, but the absolute #1 deciding factor for me to join was and is how Angie and the other trainers intertwine Christ in the cool down and remind us of what a gift our bodies are. We are capable of so much with the Lord at our side. We are made to be un-fragile by divine design and can navigate hard things with His help. Including burpees, sled pushes and battle ropes!

So it’s been a year since I’ve joined TTT, and I love every single sweaty workout. I have never felt regret for waking up at 4:45am to make it to a 5:15am group ever. I have designed my work and life schedule to attend 4 TTT early morning workouts a week. It is a non-negotiable for me unless I am out of town or deathly ill. I invest money each month in TTT, which is an investment in myself.  I am worth it. I am a better daughter of God, mother, wife and friend when I love myself. I make my lunch, have my workout clothes laid out, and anything else I will need for work, ready the night before so the morning goes smoothly because every minute counts. I set myself up for success because again, I am worth it!

I don’t have a weight loss journey to share. Yes, I gained weight in college, gained more with 3 babies, and then had my anorexic years, but it’s actually more of an emotional and self esteem journey filled with lots of layers of healing for me at this point. My desire is to feel stronger than the day before, and I really enjoy challenging myself. I love how my body looks now with a little extra soft mom skin around my tummy, strong biceps, shoulders and quads 🙂

I connect with TTT’s mission to empower, encourage, and equipbecause I feel it and see it happen every time I’m at a workout. The high fives, the helpful instruction and the encouraging cheers mean so much. I love that the trainers push me and know I can lift more or do more reps because 99% of the time they are right. They also respect and honor the days I need to modify and not go full boar because those days exist too. I have learned to let the emotional releases come unapologetically during push ups, squats or other exercises. If you see me overcome with emotion, know that I am ok:) I am working through past trauma, letting the healing happen and praising God in my mind. Once upon a time I didn’t have permission or the privilege to fill my cup, let it overflow to help and minister to others and definitely didn’t know how to love myself…but I do now, and I work out hard and give it my all because I CAN! My 3 kids have watched me get beat down, starve myself, work multiple jobs and attend college for a second time. It hasn’t been pretty at times, but I want them to know (I pray they do!) mistakes can be corrected and beauty can come from ashes. Life is a journey which looks different for everyone, but it is equally beautiful for all at the same time.

If you are interested in joining us at TTT, please know there is room for you. You are wanted and welcomed. Please also know it is challenging, but absolutely possible. You will be seen, loved and celebrated. But you have to jump in, it is up to you, xo.
