I have twin sons who are 22 and live in Florida now. I am a teacher of students with diverse needs and abilities. I love to travel, visit national parks, and hike. It’s a possibility I have been known to tell Chrissy the incline treadmill was helpful (functional training for my hikes!). As a single mom and teacher, I am always giving of myself to others first. Last year I decided it was time to move myself off the back burner so I could do the things I enjoy without pain. I really had 2 specific goals when starting TTT. I wanted to get my health numbers in check with the doctor, and I wanted to be able to go on hikes without pain in my body.

In December 2022 at my yearly exam, the Dr. was ready to put me on medicine for my cholesterol and for diabetes, I was already taking meds for high blood pressure. My knees hurt all the time, and I would have a hard time breathing just doing easy tasks like laundry, going up stairs, or tying my shoes. So I decided I needed to do something to get things moving in the right direction. My friend Jeni Rainforth was a Client Highlight of the month, and I saw her story and asked her more about TTT. I started with going to the 30/30 training session (30 min of movement + 30 min of yoga/pilates) as that sounded less intimidating to me. I also did my initial consult because I wanted to be able to measure and see my results.

I have been coming to TTT for 1 year now. I am not a morning person, and I live about 35 minutes south of the TTT OP location, so when I first started coming, I committed to 2 days a week M/W evenings at the Olathe location plus a Saturday mixed in when I could. I am mostly a 5:15am girl now, sometimes I go on Monday nights at the Olathe location. I didn’t think I would like the 4:15am wake up call, or be able to function after getting up that early, but I am finding the workout gets me going in the morning and I am more awake than if I had gotten up later and gone straight to work. When Angie and her team say showing up is the hardest part, that hits hard with me. I fight some seasonal depression, and in the past before TTT there would be days I could not get myself out of bed even to go to work. Since starting TTT, when a hard day comes and it’s hard to get up, I know there will be someone holding me accountable even if it was as simple as a “I missed you at the workout.” This accountability piece makes it easier to get myself up and get to the workout. There have still been some hard days, but because of that accountability piece I am moving instead of stuck in bed on days!

My favorite thing about TTT is all the wonderful ladies that come through the doors. It starts with Angie and her team, Chrissy, Jana, and Jaclyn. They are always there to greet everyone with a smile and words of encouragement. They are all so encouraging and push me to work to my full potential. Even when I literally tell them to go away, or constantly roll my eyes at them, they keep coming back with a smile on their face encouraging me that I can do hard things. I leave TTT knowing that I worked hard for me and accomplished something.

My consults with Angie have been life giving. I was struggling with several things in ALL areas of my life earlier this year, and the workouts were hard and my body was hurting. I scheduled a follow up consult with Angie. She reminded me that Body-Mind-Spirit are all connected. She gave me tips and advice on how to get my eating back on track to help me fuel my body for the hard workouts. Most importantly she spoke Godly truth into my life to remind me who I am and whose I am.

TTT has helped me in all facets of my life. My energy is higher, my body is stronger, my knees don’t hurt all the time, and my mental health is better. When I went to the doctor this January for my 1 year check up my cholesterol went from 213 to 177, my blood sugars went from pre-diabetic to normal, my blood pressure is in the normal range and I am off my medicine! I am thankful for everyone at TTT pouring into me so I can pour into others.

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ it says “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”
It just reminds me of TTT! There is always someone here to pick you up. None of us have to do this alone!
